This will depend on your sub floor and your final finished floor. Generally if your sub-floor is in good order and you are going to install the underfloor heating system under wood or laminate you will need enough Therm-all insulation to cover the entire area of the room. You will also need some high adhesive tape – to keep the heating mats in place prior to the finished floor being laid, and the electrical components.
It is much the same technique for under carpet installation except you will need to lay a low tog underlay above the underfloor heating mat.
For a tile or slate floor you will need to insulate the floor with our Easy-Heat insulation prior to laying the underfloor heating mats. The heating mats are embedded in the tile adhesive – but you must remember to test the heating mats prior to using the adhesive.
We do offer an underfloor heating kit package to suit particular room sizes, these kits include all the components you need. If the room size you need is not listed then we would be more than happy to design your heating mat layout free of charge.
